About
Wayne Huston
Since my early teens I have been an Alaskan, with a lifelong
interest in painting. In the early 1970's I met Bob Ross.
Over a three year period, I took numerous oil painting classes
from Bob. When he left Alaska to begin his television career
I then studied under Ed Rayburn. I believe it was Ed who
taught me a great deal about mixing color. After Ed moved
from the area, I began teaching oil painting.
By the mid-90s I met and studied with W.R.( Bill) Cross,
a master acrylic artist. Bill converted me to acrylics and
there was no looking back.
After retiring from the phone company in 1999, I began spending
the winters in the Morro Bay area. For several years now
I have exhibited my work in local galleries and businesses.
I also teach weekly classes at the Cayucos Vets Hall as well
as workshops and demos both locally and in Alaska during
the summers.
You can see alot more of Wayne's work at the Top Dog Coffee
Bar, now through March 12th, 2012. Come say hello!
