Artist Bio
Jayne Behman, a UCLA/BFA graduate who has been making “marks” since
early childhood. After years of teaching painting, sculpting,
and drawing, and enjoying a 40+ professional artist career,
she is working towards her MFA degree at the Academy of Art
University, San Francisco. Abstraction and Non Objective
Art is her Painting focus.
The concept for the use of her Fiber designs is for Art-ware.
These are free formed, using no patterns. Hence, every piece
is "one-of-a-kind". Passionate about mixed media,
often times her fiber pieces are combined with clay, enamels
on metal, and glass.
Regardless of what media she investigates and masters she
applies composition and color theory to its process.
A celebrated writer, Jayne’s column Art Talk appears
monthly as part of Slo Coast Journal ( www.slocoastjournal.com
) and she free lance writes for the Bay News. Her authored
book, Art Matters, is used world-wide.
